Whether you're just putting pen to paper for the very first time, or if you're a seasoned writer with decades of experience & a catalogue of published books under your belt, it's all too common to find your words getting stuck before they reach the page.

This month, we're proud to host our guest speaker Cindy Webb Morris, who has graciously agreed to share her Write Now philosophy with everyone at our next monthly meeting!

Write Now is as simple as it sounds: it's about writing a word, a sentence, a paragraph, or a page each & every day. While a single word, sentence, or paragraph may seem insignificant, you'll be surprised what you can achieve with each one of these goals.

CINDY WEBB MORRIS was born and raised in New Brunswick. She has also lived in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Yellowknife, and now makes her home in Calgary. Her published efforts include a personal essay, poems, newspaper articles, and short stories. She is currently working on the final draft of a novel.

Cindy has extensive experience volunteering with the Alexandra Writer's Society Centre, and is in her 2nd year in pursuit of a Creative Writing Diploma at Oxford University. According to Cindy, "You are never too old to pursue more education in something you are passionate about."

Over the past year, the Foothills Writer's Group has undergone significant changes, from our website, to our leadership, to our meeting format, to our membership. However our commitment to our mission remains: to meet writer's where they're at to provide them with education, resources, and community to grow & thrive.

In order to best meet the needs of our members & our community, we need to hear from you! Therefore we're taking the time at our upcoming meeting to hear from you about what the FWG can do for you! We're keen to hear from our members so we can learn & grow to meet your needs on your writing journey!

If you want to make your voice heard, please come on down and let us know how we can meet you where you're at on your writing journey!

Our upcoming monthly meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15th @ the Okotoks Public Library in the Main Floor Program Room from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Pens, paper, and light snacks will be provided!
